runaway dish presents: Childhood Deconstructed 8.23.13
In August of 2013 Runaway Dish took over the Children’s Museum in downtown Lafayette for our second dinner, “Childhood Deconstructed.” Chefs Collin Cormier, Pat Waters, and Thomas Peters reimagined classic childhood foods like pepperoni pizza and Cracker Jacks (full menu at the end of the post.) The evening began with a cocktail created by Bekah Langlinais at Genterie Supply Co. followed by a promenade across Parc Sans Souci, led by the Leblanc Family band to a 60 seat table in the middle of the museum. The evening was full of childhood memories and exciting preparations of smoked marshmallows, tomato spheres, tiny ice cream cones, and cornbread gold fish. Proceeds from the dinner went to benefit the museum and it’s programs.
